Get your Swag Game Up
Last night a friend of mine and I had a conversation about SWAG. For those of you who are unaware…swag is short for swagger ie. confidence – or at least the ability to ‘appear’ confident even when you are not internally feeling that way. We both agreed that the single most important factor to an individuals success in all categories, is about internal confidence or belief that what they desire is not only possible – but what they are SUPPOSED to have.
Part of conversation spurned out of the wonderment at the fact that Lil Wayne – a rapper with numerous tattoos on his face and neck- was pulling some rather fine women. It didn’t seem logical given his appearance that the type of women that he has been associated with would be attracted to him, but indeed he seems to have a pretty strong pull on the women that he has dated. Then we went on…Jermaine Dupri and Janet Jackson….Beyonce and Jay Z…Puff Daddy and random chicks worldwide… While it can be asserted that the common denominator in the above examples is that all of these men have money – I will assert that it is not because of their money…but because of their swag. I will go further and say that the reason that they have the status and money that they do have is BECAUSE of their swag. In other words, swag comes first…”success” comes second.
I have thought about this phenomenon repeatedly and have actually experienced it upclose, whereby I have dated some men who have been a bit less than attractive just based on the way they carry themself. It is a fascinating phenomenon. I have had friends who blinked a few times at first interaction with these suspect characters like…why? Then after a few more in depth exchanges they were feeling me.
30 Something Revelation: Swag is THE MOST important trait that a person who would like to have success in life can develop. Once you believe in yourself and carry yourself as one who is entitled to be treated a certain way, people will treat you accordingly. It all starts with you.

Chapter 4: Get Yo Swag Game Up
Now, I respect what you doin here, So. I’m feelin your blog too. If I was to start one, it would be similar to this. But you talkin bout swag, an didn’t even consult The Prince?

Nah Ma. You got it backwards. Swag is, indeed, a by product of confidence, but it moreso a result of self actualizations. Real swag is genuine. Meaning that one must truly believe the aura that he emits. To cast one’s self in a light which is not truly representative of who one believes himself to be makes one merely a poser. If you got real swag, you don’t care whether or not this chick is diggin you, there will be others. How do you know that? From your past successes. You got real swag, you walk into that interview knowing that this company needs you more than you need them…and you let them know. How do you know that? By your past successes. You got real swag? Tell her you’re dating other women.
Much like in most other walks of life, as one succeeds in his efforts, he becomes more confident in his ability to execute these efforts. Eventually, seeking more “difficult” conquests, which offer a higher return. ( A better job, A hotter chick, A more substantial investment) In the instances you mentioned above, best believe that the dough these guys have played a role in the women in their lives. However, their swag plays a factor as well. All those cats strike me as being very confident and self assured; A result of past successes in business and their personal lives.
Some say you are born with “just born with it”. They are wrong. You develop it. Succeed at what you do, and yo swag game will rise.

What you are saying is 100% true…and ironically we were speaking of that last night as well. Fake swag vs. Real swag. Fake swag can be sniffed out a mile away to the trained nose… you can’t fake true authentic confidence. Thanks for the correction.
TRUE CONFIDENCE LEADS TO SWAG.
You must actually BELIEVE it to make it real. Your belief alone is enough to make it manifest as truth. This is truly the key to success in all areas of life.

Denzel Washington, now that is a brother with an authentic swag! One confirmation of having a true swag for men is when other men respect you and the women can’t help but to adore you, and vise versa for the women.

Souky… Denzel has much swag!! Have you ever noticed that in EVERY movie of his, there is at least one 2 minute scene of Denzel walking alone? It never fails… Even producers know that Denz has swag!!
